With the Graduates of Action for Hope Music School in Jordan

A music concert presented by the virtuosos Layth Sidiq and Hazem Shaheen, along with 20 of Action for Hope music school graduates in Amman, brought to you by Al Shams Al Mushriqa. The concert program will include songs and instrumental pieces from the classical Arabic music repertoire, from Jordan, Syria, Iraq, Palestine, and Egypt.

Layth Sidiq is a Grammy-nominated violinist, composer, and educator and is the artistic director of the New York Arabic Orchestra and the director of the Center for Arabic Culture's Youth Orchestra Program. He has toured the world and performed with major artists and performed in venues like the London Jazz Festival, Boston Symphony Hall, WOMEX Expo, Montreal Jazz Festival, Carnegie Hall, and more.

Hazem Shaheen is an Egyptian Oud player, composer and singer, born in Alexandria and one of the most prominent independent artists in the Arab world today. He began his music studies in 1992, and won the “Best Oud Player” award in 2001 and has since then toured to many international festivals.  He founded the music group “Eskenderella” in 2005.  He launched several albums such as Safha Jideeda,  Al Aish wal Melh, and Hagat Wahshani.
